Kauffmann T-model features

We see the T-model as the mother beast. The one that got the whole thing started. A magic design that is still as relevant as when it first came out.

A LIGHTER GUITAR

Over the last few years we have continuously upgraded our S-model. We are using light weight Paulownia wood for the body. this results in a guitar that weighs below 3 kgs and the Paulownia wood makes the guitar extremely resonant.

A PERFECT STARTING POINT FOR CREATIVITY

Over the years the T model has proven to be a great guitar to be creative with. How about a thinline model, a double bound version or maybe add a Bigsby? Or go double humbucker on a custom or deluxe model. Maybe use a Violin Burst finish with a herringbone purfling.

SUPERIOR PLAYABILITY

All our S-models come with a 9,5″ radius with 6105 fret wire. So you still have the vintage-vibe feel to the neck but with the lower string action of a modern fingerboard.

TIME TRAVEL TREATMENT

Our T-models all have that well played worn in feeling. It’s like putting on a pair of old faded jeans. Nowhere on a guitar is that feeling more distinct than on its neck. So we carefully roll the edges of the fingerboard, we take finish of the back of the neck  We offer three levels of aging, light to heavy. And we make sure that the aging is realistic and balanced.

THAT GRITTY CUTTING SOUND

On board you will find our Kauffmann Slightly Overwound pickups. They produce a creamy bluesy sound without losing that vintage transparency and bite. We use CTS pots, vintage wire and we put in a treble bleed.
